My 3 way valve lets hot water through to the radiators when only the DHW is switched on. Just enough to warm the rads up. This isnt an issue for now. But could this become dangerous when I start to use the rads, and the valve is letting through to the cylinder when the DHW isnt on, heating the cylinder uncontrolled? I have plastic storage tanks.

Cheers.

nah all will be fine with regards to safety. It will get as hot as the boiler stat. You will need to keep an eye on water temp tho with regards to the kiddies....

In a word, NO, but get the valve changed, your system is probably full of ****e which is why its passing in 1st place, may need to look into flushing it

not likely to be dangerous but you ought to get it replaced, as you are wasting fuel and comfort level is not as it should be, before winter sets in.

Thanks lads.

I will get it replaced. And possibly have it flushed through too. I have 2 new rads to connect too, and having a new boiler next year sometime - see my other post.

Its really odd with three ports isn't it...When they are passing they are in fact failing...
