Hi, i have an inverter that is a Growatt 6kw with a max 500v input & 150v start up & the panels are all as per spec below. I have 10 panels & would like to wire them in 2 series of 5 = 10 in total. Which i think is 5x40.25voc = 212.50v Is my figures correct for my inverter & should i take any other things into account. Thanks for your help.

I see you have now tried with Screwfix forum. Due to needing to take special courses and exams to be able to register the work and get the second MPAN number, most electricians either specialise in solar panels and EV charging, or don't touch it.

Even as an electrical engineer, I got someone to do the work for me.

I am also an electrician & retired 20 years ago, so out of touch with many things, but am still more than capable of doing the work, & at a few months short of 70 i wont be taking any courses. Just looking for some help.

The point he was making is it's easy to do the work but not possible to produce the required documentation without being qualified.

Are you doing two strings because of the possibility of shading on one set but not the other?
Hi, no shading. It was a case of a little bit of future proofing if it was ok to do. I will have a permanent amp/volt meter on each string to keep an eye on things & if any problem, & its far easeir to pull 5 apart than 10 when X amount of feet up on a roof.
