Can any one help me with my first problem which is coving I have internal and external corners to deal with within a 30cm of each and I cannot get my head round it.

The other problem is where the other half has put up the coving using silicone some has squeezed out onto the ceiling, ceiling newly plastered, so although I have scrapped off the excess there is still a stain on the ceiling, I am going to paint it but if I use primer/undercoat before emulsion will this do the trick?

you can buy cornice and coving cutters, they are shaped to the coving or cornice and in a L-shape and you run the saw down either side of the cutter depending on external or internal mitre, and its not the same as a skirting board mitre, and if you picture in your head a internal mitre, the bottom of the coving is longer than the top, and a external mitre the bottom is shorter than the top, also i don`t expect it`ll stay up long with silicone, you`d be better off with no-nails, but i`d pva the plaster behind first to give it a good fix, if need be use panel pins to keep it in position until the no-nails goes off, wipe off any excess with a filling knife.......hope this helps
