We moved into our new home 6 month ago and are in the process of doing it up...I am now planning to do up the 'spaceship' room - silver wallpaper (which has come off already!!), silver skirting boards and even worse the coving is painted in a shiny silver!!
And that's were my trouble starts...I am not sure how to paint over it...it looks like a gloss but I can't be sure...can I just prime it with an undercoat and than paint over with emulsion (the same as I would use for the ceiling) or do I need to use an oil based white to get rid of it?
