I had the ceilings plastered last year and all was good. When putting up the architraves a few months ago I was a bit heavy handed and got a couple of hairline cracks. No real big issue. Happy to fill with easifill.

However, the one in the bathroom, which is directly above the bath, about a metre long, keeps disappearing. I literally can not see it. The only way to know where it is is where a tiny bit of paint maybe 2mm square has flaked off. Then perhaps the next day, there it is.

It's appearance or not, is definitely not light dependant.

Presumably it's disappearance is something to do with the moisture?

look in the roof and locate where it is by measuring - you might be able to then strengthen the ceiling from above with timber and gripfill

well i would say this is a classic expansion/contracting issue as it drys out it will show the crack.

Yes, we once had that when a dehumidifier was in play; once it was removed, cracks closed up.
