Cracked decking repair?

We've had our softwood decking delivered, and I'd say 98% of it is pretty good. The other 2% is a bit poor.

Some of the strips have cracks in them, and or have knots which are crumbling. Does anyone have any good repair tips on how to fill these so they don't stand out when it gets oiled?

Wood outside is always moving so almost impossible to hide the defects, you either live with it or complain?

plan it well use the boards with defects as odd lengths using the good bits around the flaws
think off facing boards
areas that will be covered
think planters or other projects with the off cuts
i personally allow between 5-10% for wastage
