Can any body help we have recentyly re done the kitchen which includes a new AGA which produces heat all the time However when i paint the preexisting coving with white emulsion the surface cracks like crackle effect.

I have hand sanded the coving and applied PVA glue however i still get the crackle effect.

Perhaps the glue wasn't watered down enough would this make any difference

Does anybody know how i can get rid of this effect as i want to paint this weekend

many Thanks

Neil

the crazing is an indication that the paint is not sticking
are you shure the surface is free from grease dust

but i would have thought pva giving a plastic finnish
wouldnt take emilsion to well
