We moved into our current house five months ago and have noticed cracks that appear to be worsening. The house is 1930s, with the extension being added almost 15 years ago.
The main cracks of concern are two that run from ceiling to floor in the single storey extension (one in the middle of the wall and the other where the extension joins the main part of the house. We are also noticing movement in the laminate flooring close to the middle crack.
In the upper floor of the two storey extension there is a further ceiling to floor crack in the middle of a wall, and a crack beneath the windowsill extending down behind the radiator to the skirting board. This crack is much wider than the others.
Any opinions on whether we need to be worried much appreciated.
Photos attached. The first three show sections of one crack in the single storey extension. The last two show the crack behind the radiator.
Many thanks.
