Hi,

I have an issue with internal cracks constantly appearing in my house. I dig out a small channel then fill them in but within 4-5 months there are back again. They are particularly bad around windows and the corner of walls. They are not very wide, 1-2mm but stretch across the whole room if left.

The house has not been re-plastered for a long time - do you think this would help??? Should I be worried about this? There are no signs of cracks externally.

Thanks

James

Seems like your walls are changing shape from that of a rectangle. If the returning cracks are wider the process is accelerating. Do the doors still close?

Depends whats causing the cracks and to what extent.

Not enough info on the substrate, cavity or solid walls etc.

You may get away with reinforcing the cracks before re- skimming but as i say depends the extent and cause.
