Cracks in new paint job disappeared??

Hi all,

About 1 month ago my apartment was repainted by the landlord, before I moved it.

2 weeks ago I noticed some cracks on the wall. It did not bother me and I told the landlord just to keep him informed.

Today I noticed, the cracks have 75% 'healed'. How can this be? The only thing I can mention is that the weather has gone drastically colder here in the past 2 weeks.

Does seem a little strange but its just where the walls expand and contract due to the amount of moisture they are holding.
As they dry out the cracks will again become wider.
