I'm hoping someone can put my mind at rest here, or if not to spur me into action!
I've noticed that when flushing the downstairs toilet there is a creaking / dripping noise in the ceiling above the kitchen (also downstairs) i.e. the noise is above the toilet. It's hard to tell which it is!! This happens when the toilet is filling (not all the time), and when I turn the water off at the mains and flush (as a test) it doesn't happen. So my theory is it must be the cold water pipes. I didn't notice it when the shower was running upstairs.
My thoughts are it can't be a leak, as if it's a leak in a pipe at mains water pressure then surely the noise would happen all the time - and I'd see water damage?? Is this right or do I need to be getting someone in to look at this?
I should say we have an unvented system (no tank) so cold water all at mains pressure (I think!).
