Hi,
I recently installed an ALLOC engineered wood floor, called an Original Trend Oiled white oak. I soon discovered a lot of creaking and cracking at different places, but not across the entire floor. I was told the floor would need 2-3 months to "settle" then the noise would be gone. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Is is normal for afloor like this to creak and crack for some time? Or is the problem more likely to be withthe sub-floor, which is concrete.
Thanks for any suggestions.
John.

Every success starts with the correct preparations. Was your floor level and clean?
It is true that a wood floor - even if it has been acclimatising in your home - needs to settle in its place once it is installed, but 2 months is a long time though.
