crossover between flow and return.

I've been asked to fit a heat leak rad on a biomass boiler, in the technical drawings an item called a crossover is indicated between a first 't' on the flow from the boiler and returning to a last 't' on the return before the boiler.The cicuit already incorporates a auto bypass and is a fully pumped 's' plan system, I just don't know what a crossover is.
