Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help. At the base of an unused chimney breast there's quite a lot of crumbling wall. I've attached a picture of it here also the outside wall. (note the outside wall it covered by an arch walkway between two properties so generally protected by the elements. Would this be a possible issue of rising damp or a leak in the chimney somewhere causing this.

Thanks

You can be helped but you will have to supply a few more pics and more information - is that OK with you?

Stand back and take wider pictures showing the whole wall. Outside, include the chimney stack, gutters, downpipes, drains and manhole covers, airbricks and DPC

How old is the house?

What is the floor made of? Is it damp?
