I'm interested in exactly where the laths are - using the window as a reference can you indicate where they are eg. above the window or immediately to the left etc.
And yes, knock off the loose plaster and photo please.

We are in the same room as the photos, not the attic/loft room?

Yes these were direct left of the window. Which is an exterior wall. I have seen the rest but I'm just presuming it will be the same.
Just to make sure I'm.not talking rubbish. The laths are the wooden pieces running horizontally under the plaster?
