Hi,

I'm after some suggestions.

I've decided after moving in to this house a couple of years ago it's now time to tackle the spare room.

I've been getting the wallpaper off and after pulling some away from a ceiling corner, discovered this beauty hiding underneath.

Is there a method (preferabally a guide online or if someone can type it up, this sort of stuff is not my really my area of expertise) I should try to use to try and repair this? I'm after a decent fix and not something short term.

Many thanks.

Looks like your plaster has blown. I am guessing you have brick underneath that which is sound? No easy fix if it's that and I would recommend finding a good plasterer in your area to come and have a look. May be able to patch it up if the area's that are crumbling aren't too big, and the rest of your plaster is sound. If most of your plaster has blown, I'd recommend taking the lot down and starting again. We have recently done that in a Victorian house which had 80% blown plaster - knocked the lot off and then had hardwall then skim done from scratch.
