Hi

I have one of those Cuprinol Wooden Decking Sprayers for re-treating your wooden decking with wood stain.

The sprayer says that you must use the specific Cuprinol wood treatment with it. Is that true or is it just a way of getting you to spend a lot more on a branded product? Could I, in fact, use any wooden decking treatment and pump that through the device?

I only ask because the Cuprinol stuff costs like £30 a tub from B&Q and I need two tubs to cover my decking so £60 is quite a bit!

Thanks

Ted

but if it lasts...................

it may also be to do with the viscosity

It's always mopre sensible to stick with the same manufacturer throughout. They will have tested the products and 100% sure about their compatability. Agree the branded products are more expensive but it's not worth the risk.

Hope this helps.

..and no offence but you end up spending the same amount as the expensive treatment as you will need to re-apply another coat of the cheaper treatment alot earlier than the costly stuff. (In my own personal opinion that is) :)
