Having removed the original 3/4 inch connector in the top of the cylinder to replace it with a warix flange for the shower pump (the pump had originally been t'd from the down pipe from the vent and was creating air locks a sa result) the warix flange will not go in and now nor will the original connector! I have tried very carefully to screw either of them but they are both getting too tight to turn before they are water tight......

I guess that the thread has gone in the top of the cylinder...

Does this mean a new cylinder?

Any ideas appreciated

If you've damaged the thread on the cylinder you maybe able to clean/re-cut it with a new fitting. Start a new fitting until it gets tight then back it off keep repeating until the new fitting is completely home.

Well the warix flange I have bought has now had all of the corners sheered off from trying to tighten it!

It needs at least another full turn before it's properly tight.....

The iron nipple may re-instate the thread?
