Hi

I have moved into a 1970's house and one the curtain poles has come down and pulled the plaster out with it.

I have refilled the hole with plaster repair and fitted them back up with raw plugs and self drive metal plasterboard screws without success.

When I fit the raw plugs I had cut them down to half the length as there looks to be a beam above the window so I cant drill any further in.

Any advice how else to rehang the curtin rail would be appreciated please.

Looks like your hitting the lintel . About 100-125mm to the right is normal placing .
Away from the lintel also makes overhang so is no gap down the sides ?
Or drill into the lintel
Or use decorative timber batten and fix into that
Need a good fix or it will fall off

That is good stuff (rated to 32kg per cm2) but relies on the bond between the plaster and the brick surely? I've heard of people using it on old plaster and it coming away from the wall.
Gluing to plasterboard so should be fine given the spread of load over a large area .
