I put plank style porcelain floor tiles down in our kitchen and prior to a new kitchen being installed by a professional fitter. As time was against me I never grouted the tiles as this was a plan for afterwards.
After living with this new floor, I wasn't too happy with my installation of them. Gaps weren't too even but the tiles were level and secure.
Wife now prefers a cushionfloor over the top and I don't disagree.
As the gaps between the tiles are approx 5mm wide x 9mm (some places gaps a bit wide and some a bit less) would it be ok to grout the tiles and leave the grout level with the top surface of tiles?. Or would cement or floor leveller in the 5mm gaps between better?.
I assume the cushionfloor would then be ok to put down on top afterwards?
