Hi,

I've read quite a few threads on this forum about this, so I think I know what I need to do, but can someone just confirm.

I am replacing my toilet with a new one, the plastic soil pipe comes out of the concrete floor a few cm too far from the wall, so the existing 90 deg bend causes my new toilet pan to stick out with a gap behind to the wall.

I've seen people suggesting using a swan neck pan connector (like http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/435193, or http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/plumbing...r-Low-Level-71190001-White-9270934?icamp=recs)which I think should help me here, but I was wondering how I fit it?

Can I cut the existing vertical soil pipe and push the connector into it? Are the fins there to create a seal? The soil pipe is 110mm, am I right in thinking that the bottom of the swan neck connector is narrower than this to fit inside?

Is there any gotchas or things I need to bear in mind before I take a hacksaw to the soil pipe?

Cheers

It looks quite close to the wall Rich?? have you checked your sizes, cause 90mm to the centre of the soil pipe will be OK for lots WCs.

Regardless, yes you'd cut the vertical soil pipe & the fins will seal internally........... ;)
