Hi,

What type of holesaw would you use to cut a hole in a cast iron stack?

I guess I could use it once and then throw it away?

Thanks

I have never used a holesaw. My method is to use a quality hss drill bit and needle point around the diameter of the hole you require then carefully nib each piece out and file the edges to give a smooth cut.

A good quality Metal hole saw is fine, and it should be reusable for the next project.

Cast iron has a lot of graphite in its make up so should cut / drill with little pressure , let the tool do the work and not force it.
