Hi Guys,

I'm going to be getting a patio door from a friend. To save the hassle of sorting out a van I was thinking of taking the doors out which will fit in my car fine, but then for the frame I was thinking of cutting these at the corners so it will go in the car and the reassembling at home?

The doors will be going into my shed, so don't need to be perfect, and also I was thinking of cladding the building anyway, so the corners may be partially hidden anyway. Basically I can just screw on some metal angle brackets and it will all work OK.

Opinions or am I way off on this? Thanks.

You can ask a fabricator to mechanically screw the door together, sometimes this is done when there is no option but to take the door in via the front door and then it screws back together.
I wouldn't cut an already welded frame though.
