Cutting worktop curve.

Hello again,
I have a good offcut from an oak stave worktop and plan to make a small table with it.
I've no problems with masons mitres, fixing bolts, hotrods, etc using the standard jigs but am a wee bit lost here without a jig.
I've made a curved corner template and assumed I'd clamp it on and run the router guide round but it's a bit of a faff trying to line it up properly.
Would it be simpler to make a few tangential cuts with a circular saw and spend a bit of time profiling with the belt sander?.

Many thanks for the link, I had a couple of bits of allthread and made up a practice jig, it works a treat.
