Just got a new one of these installed the other day by a heating engineer as our old pump died after 7 years, the one installed has been on constant and the other casing is very warm, should this be like this or is there a malfunction somewhere?

Can anyone assist with this?

An update hearing was on for an hour with other electrical units tv etc.
Inclusive used was 17p for an hour.
The pump no longer seems to be running for several hours after the hearing has went off but the pump seems to be running very quick does anyone know if it can be turned down a slight bit? Don't want to be running it into the ground.

Thanks, that pic is definitely worth a lot of words.

The pump is currently on the highest fixed speed setting.

You could try it on the medium fixed speed setting. Top symbol and bottom two lights on. You press the button and the pump cycles though all the options.

These pumps are designed to run at full speed for years, so there's no likelihood of it being run into the ground for a long time - unless you have a faulty one. :(

Would this correct the issue with the pump coming on at 1am? It is doing something as the pipes beside the boiler are absolutely roasting.
It is requesting the boiler to kick in as well so im not overly sure what the issue is.

No.

It won't be the pump turning the boiler on.

More info about your system is required - make and model of all components.

Pics would also help - but not close-ups as we need to see how the items are connected together.
