I'm replacing my wooden-framed front door with UPVC.
I'm aware of of issues people have had, when they find out there's no lintel and the wall was built up directly over the wooden frame.
I don't think I'll be in this position as my front door is a little bit further in than the wall, presumably to give you a bit of shelter when finding your keys. It appears to just be plasterboard above the door frame (hollow to knock).
Are there any other nasties to consider when swapping wood for UPVC, or should this be straightforward, as no bricks are above the doorframe?
Other info: mid 70s, George Wimpey, semi-detached, cavity main walls.
