Hi all, first post so be nice.

Recently moved into a relatively new ( about 9 years old ) 4 bedroom house. Needs a bit of work doing to it as the previous owner considered himself as a bit of a DIY nut. Unfortunately he was mentally insane..................REALLY.

All the upstairs rooms except the landing have had laminate laid down straight over the existing chipboard flooring ( no underlay at all ! ! ! ). Yes we still bought it

Anyway thats not really the problem as its an easy fix. What i am not sure about is the chipboard flooring. Obviously developers/builders these days want the cheap quick easy way out so dont bother with traditional floorboards and have just layed various size chipboard sections down for the flooring.

Now im sure this is ok but obviously in certian areas they now squeak like an annoying squeaky thing. Now i haven't started ripping up laminate to have a good look at what the causes are yet, but im guessing this chipboard will be nailed down.

Any surefire way of curing this squeak? ( without relaying the floor )?????

Thx in advance
