damp bricks below bay window - external

I have a triangular damp patch below my bay window, the damp patch starts wide then tapers down to point after about 30cm. the patch starts at a crack in the concrete ledge below the window. it looks like the crack is playing a part but its been there since we moved in over 5yrs ago and the damp patch is fairly recent.

I have recently cemented over the crack, about a week ago, but there is no change.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does the bay have a drip ridge underneath by the front edge.

I dont know what a drip ridge is but i dont think there is the feature you have described.

Could just be rain which penetrated via the crack, would take months to dry in this weather if you have filled the damage.
