Hi had a bedroom plastered about 5 weeks ago but there are 5 or 6 blobs of damp plaster that just will not dry.
When its warm and dry outside the lighten in colour as if they're drying, but when it rains or cold outside they darken in colour.

Any ideas what it could be?

The render/gutter and roof is all sound.

Thanks

Ive checked all the render on the outside an its all solid. Got a dehumidifier running now.
Could moisture be trapped in the wall?

If it gets worse when it rains, then that very much suggests water from the sky is finding its way into the plaster.

Have you checked the patches with a moisture meter, maybe just slow in drying out .

Why was the room re-plastered in the first place?

Why not transfer this post to the plasterers forum?

The house was totally renovated, removing old lath an plaster the having all walls skimmed.
Got dehumidifier in there at the moment, its collecting water but the patch isn't changing that much.

I sanded the patches down the other day an they all disappeared, then went back in the next morning an they had slightly re-appeared, however we've had no rain for days?!!

*not sure how to move this to plasterers forum, new on here :-/

By and large, houses are rendered as a remedial measure - often caused by "faulty" solid walls. Pics of the relevant render would help.

You only skimmed the walls then, no hacking back to brickwork? Was the old wallpaper stained or rippled? Did you notice any cracking at all in the backing coat?
