I have a flat roof over our bedroom, renovated in 2011. You may remember my post about insulating above it.

We are having the room renovated and once the paper was taken off the ceiling, we noticed it was sagging quite badly.

Once the board was taken down, we could see damp seeping through. I have called the roofer who will come to look, but he suggested it might be condensation.

I also looked at the timbers. The deck is propped up with offcuts of wood spaced along the joists.
And the joist ends just seem to be resting on the wall and the ends look like they are twisting.

Also the roofer said on the phone that he had replaced the previous strawboard, but there is still some in place.

This roof was originally erected around 1970.

Does this look like condensation to you? Or is it impossible to tell?
