I live in a 1930 property with dorma loft conversion. I have noticed a damp patch on an external wall over the last week ( it is growing slowly) . I Am trying to work out where the water is coming from. there is a bathroom above, (dorma conversion) however it hasn't got any worse with the shower on. There is guttering outside , but that is clear from looking out of a window. ( i don't have a ladder big enough to have a proper look but pipes all look good, no leaking from external pipe for shower or water dripping down side of house in the rain.) I have dried it up with a hair dryer but the patch will go back to being wet within 30 minutes. Any ideas? I don't know whether to call a plumber/ builder ?

the damp certainly looks as if it coming down from above can you post a pic of the bathroom above where the damp is ?

Sounds as if you should be looking under the floor of the room above !

Is that something you can do yourself?

Hurray, thanks guys..yes indeed coming from the bathroom, not outside, just took the laminate up and yes, it is wet behind the toilet, not sure exactly of precise source, but will get a plumber in.
Thanks for your help.
