Damp patches on stone floor

I have an original flag stone floor. It was damp when first exposed, but dry now, except for the odd patch.
Lifting the flags isn't an option. Is there a way to dry off these patches? Would drilling a hole help? It took several years for the rest of the floor to dry out.

Has there been a lot of rain in your area recently?

It's probably water coming up from the ground where the "cement" has gaps.
