Damp proof remedy - advice really appreciated!

just a quick thought on "SBR". i'm no expert on it and there is probably different types.

the type i use would not alone be enough to tank. u would need to check the manufacturer’s instructions.

i understand it is effectively a type of "PVA" which does not re dissolve when wetted after drying (which PVA does - i'm led to believe)

SBR in basements might work when the damp is not very severe, but I wouldn't want to issue a guarantee on it. On the other hand it might be OK for replastering as part of a rising damp treatment.
 
ok what about drilling and filling say 2 courses up from the existing dpc along the effected area then tanking below to stop any more rising up and that way you will still have your 6 inch drop in dpc/ground level.
