The front door to my house used to be set back into the front wall around 3 feet, the previous owner to create a larger hall had in moved forward so it was flush with the fron of the house.

The problem is there is a musty smell and on removing the skirting board the plaster board appears damp and crumbley.

Im going to knock all the plaster board off and remove the laminate flooring which is laid on the original concrete slab/step ( actual house is a 1960 suspended timber floor)

I'm after advice on how to remedy this so the job is done correctly and is done for good.

Many thanks

Looks like it’s installed below the dpc of the house, needs a new door and floor raising to original height of the rest of the property but doubt you can loose that much height on new door frame unless the current is oversized.

Is there any other way to do it because i cant increase the height of the floor and the door was brand new around 18 months ago??

You need to identify the actual problem first. Is it the wall or floor or the frame that is the problem.

Well im aware the bricks the house is made of are extremely porous so owing to the fact the plaster board is bridging the dpc im guessing its almost leaching behind the plaster
