Is it just me or is the Danfoss TP9000 (and the 5000, come to that) not the easiest thing in the world to get your head round when first encountered?
The printed instructions aren't great but Youtube was more helpful, especially their series of Youtube clips entitled "Get Smart With Dad" (why "Dad"?). Their technical helpline pointed me to that one.
The 5000 instructions advised how to set the time ... but omitted to tell thickos like me that it really wanted the date set first -but didn't make that clear and just said 'time' and I was trying to set the time before realising it wanted the date (I accept I must be a bit dense).
At least with the Honeywell CM901 it's pretty obvious how to skip (disable) the intermediate time settings when you only want one ON and one OFF per day but the TP9000 shows this odd looking symbol that looks like three top hats joined together, and initially it failed to click with me that it meant that the installer has set it up for 6 on/off periods. The tech helpline fella told me to get the installer back to change that setting to just one ON and one OFF .... not likely to be that cheap an option just to alter the time settings!
But we cracked it and it's OK now.
Is the Danfoss any better or any worse than most newish devices? I was advised to get a Salus RT 500 when I install a new Intergas boiler - is that any better (or worse?) or do i just need to try harder?
