probably 78 so I would have been 16 - wife tells me it wouldn't have been newcastle city hall but the mayfair (probably had a capacity of 6 or 7 hundred - the noise was phenomenal (left my ears ringing for a week) would always get deafened at the mayfair - (and if you didn't get beaten up by some nutter was a bonus too, it was a wild place)
never forget 'whole lotta rosie'
Yeah, i never forget Rosie, for a whole lotta other reasons.:p
I first saw 'em at Donington in '81. I was actually on my way in to work when a leery geezer spotted me walking along and shouted if i was on my way there. I shook my head so he pulled over and said "hop on" the back of a cranky BSA, told him i didn't have a ticket and he said he didn't either. Got lost in the crowd and never saw him again after we crawled through a gap in the fence. '/DC blew a mile high stack to shreds with their awesome sound, leaving echoes in my brain for weeks after. Had to hitch a ride back, soaked in beer n' sweat...told 'em i'd had a bad case of the leurgy on monday when i finally made it in. :cool:Let there be Rock!

Any big name act that i have seen live has always been a disappointment - much prefer their studio music,

one exception was ac/dc live at newcastle city hall (the proper ac/dc with bon scott) they were something else

so back to the question - i probably would choose not to in case it change my opinion
Remember though, in the spirit of the thread, it can be a relatively unknown/obscure singer band or group. Even one that was just known in your local area back in the day.

Although i've seen F.port Convention many times i never had the chance to see them perform with singer Sandy Denny, who was taken to the Blessed Isles far too soon. The gods loved her too much.
