Hi all,
Found quite a few threads related but wanted to get some very up-to-date advice.
So got around 24sqm of decking that been stained twice now with anti-slip stuff (Cuprinol or to Ron seal, can’t remember). The wife is about to do it again (yet another diff colour) but it flakes off within weeks.
It seems oil-based is the way to go.

so,
  1. Cleaner the decking of crap and moss/green algae stuff.
  2. Pressure wash it to further scrub old paint off. We do have a patio cleaning head for the karcher.
  3. Then what….?
  4. Recommend me a really dark oiled-based stain. Ideally was looking for a deep brown or dark grey/black colour.
thanks all

After cleaning it and scrubbing it.

You need to let it dry out for a couple of weeks.

Once properly dry then paint it, paint should last without peeling then, but the conditions need to be perfect really and they rarely are

Deck oil eliminates the flaking issue
