decking colour issue?

Our builder has just started laying our decking today.
We have noticed that there is quite contrasting colour of the decking.Some of the boards are a green/brown colour when layed groove side up making it look odd and have light coloured lines in them.Is this normal.We are using softwood.

Our builder says the colours wilfade to the same colour eventually.

Any thoughts??

there may well be colour variations,depending on how the log was converted.
also if some are slightly damp/dry.
is this decking tanilized/pretreated?

A coat of decking oil will even out a lot of colour difference.

and in a couple of years they will change colour dramatically.... and if you treat them, this will be for the good.
