Decking Question With Pics

Hi All

I did my decking a few weekends ago, and it looks lovely.

My question is that I had to build the decking above my DPC due to the house being very high and the step down from my patio door to the floor was quite high, I have not gone above any of the air bricks.

Is it OK to build the deck 1 brick above the DPC?
The decking is on a frame of 6x2 treated, the 6x2 is sitting on engineering bricks and below that is the old concrete patio
The frame and the decking are not connected to the house at all, there is a 10mm gap between the first deck board and the brick wall as shown in one of the pics.

What do you guys think.

I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference at all. Is there a boiler of something gas involved? If so check the guys in the plumbing forum.

No gas Issues, What made you say that? have you seen something?

No, but airbricks are often associated with ventilation for fires etc. I think they have to have free air around them.

I see,

The air bricks just above the decking are ventilation for the timber floor.

The 2 big air bricks up the wall are for an old back boiler that the property used to have.
This is blocked up now from inside and the bricks jsut ventilate to rear cavity wall.

shouldnt be a problem, a deck is free draining and has airflow and will not hold the water against the house like a solid mass such as a flower bed or patio will
