I am about to paint some of the rooms in my house. The house is a year old and has never been painted before, except the builders painting everything magnolia and white.

Due to some shrinkage - blown tapes and nail marks showing through the paint on the ceiling, the builder sent out some painters. The painters scraped off the cracked/blown bits and scraped a filler over these bits. They left them to dry before coming back to paint over them.

The result is fantastic, absolutely no hint of a painting touch-up. Unfortunately some other bits have gone and the builder is no longer liable for shrinkage.

Does anyone know what the filler was - it dried a sort of yellow colour, and was almost like honey when applied...

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like Easi-Fill which is highly recommended in the building trades, so easy to do !

Any cracks or gap then use Self Adhesive Plasterboard Repair Tape which is a fine stick-on mesh tape.
