I have removed my current flooring ready to have a new floor layer. On removing the laminate next to the front door, I came acros a large gap, 5cm deep at least all along
Fine concrete with no stones big enough to jam in the gap.
To prevent the risk of damp transmission, I like to clean out the trough and line it with a piece of DPM, folded into a channel. When you push the mix into it, it will press against the sides and bottom to squeeze the plastic against the walls. Cut it oversize and trim it back with a stanleyknife after the concrete has hardened. It will sink a little after placing so overfill or keep a little back to fill in the slump while it is still fresh. Smooth off flat with the floor.
DPC is too thick and stiff for your little cavity.
