Dell Insperon 1525-Dead harddrive

Since 1995 - 3 Dell desktops the final two with twin HDD and twin optical drives.
Not one machine thus far failed in any way.
Initial 150 pentium has been stripped for spare bits - screws, rails etc... WD Caviar HDD, floppy drive and cd reader still on the shelf.
600 pentium with some upgrading - still available for use - XP home - wireless dongle ok for office work and surfing.
Current Inspiron twin hdd etc 18 months fault free.
I wonder if it is due to buying better spec? As opposed to 'bargain' basement?

Blimey just noticed 2 HDD and floppy drive from 1st PC - MJN 386 circa 1990 - they remained ok, stripped around 1996 !!
