My old Dell laptop has some vertical lines running down the screen. I've got a couple of others for spares. Anybody know what I need to change? Thanks.

Ah ok cheers, not the one I have 11 replacement screens for then.
(the crap I try to rescue and rehome that just gets stored lol) :)

Yea. I've got 4 of these in various states. Just in case. Its on win 7 or XP. Just to run the old printer really. Everything else I seem to do on the phone.

I was quite proud of myself when I got Win 10 up and running on one of these :)
It meant I could keep the old thing in use and connected to our corporate network.
Nice solid machine.

I'm afraid I can't add much about the screen, check cable connections etc, there are plenty of troubleshooting videos on YouTube.

Although given the laptops age, it may be worth gently checking the ribbon edge connection to the panel. Sometimes a little bit of pressure applied in the right place may get rid of the line, if you're lucky...
