Delonghi ESS 601 - flash and smoke at rear

Hi,

Was using the grill, then to turn off, switched the control to oven then off and there was quite a bright flash and a small bang from the rear of the oven. Checked where the 30A mains comes in and the connectors look singed and a little burnt. Am thinking of scrapping the oven and getting a Hotpoint, but any pointers if it might be something simple would be great.

Probably an element has blown, wire may have come off element & earthed, foil insulation may have touched element terminal

Hi, thanks for the reply, took back of oven off and noticed the mains supply lead had worn and short circuited. Nothing wrong with the oven. Cut bit off cable and all sorted.
