demolition and removal of shed

Hi,
has anyone any idea of the cost of demolition and removal of a small garden shed which I suspect may contain asbestos sheets.
All advise greatly accepted.

Depends on:

a) Type of asbestos - cement sheets or AIB
b) Quantity
c) Condition

When you say shed, do you mean a wooden structure or a concrete/brick build? Unusual to find ACMs in a garden shed.

Thanks for the reply ,
the shed is a wooden frame structure,with wooden roof , suspected asbestos side panels. Probably around 25 years old. So I would suggest fair condition considering age. All suspected asbestos panels look in fair condition. (Shed dimensions approx (2.5mx1.2mx1m).

How are panels held to the frame?

Hi the suspected asbestos panels are mostly battened to the frame with a small number of nails attaching the suspected asbestos sheeting to the frame.

In that case:

1) Get them tested to confirm that they contain asbestos
2) You may have to get a specialist removal company in if they are ACMs - if they are AIB then you should not be touching them without training & PPE
