Hi,

Does anyone know the cheapest suppliers of medium density blocks? I live in south Wales and need direct loads delivered.

Whats the average price you would suggest I should be paying per block for around 1400 blocks?

Im not lazy, I have searched around but advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jack

I would suggest a local builders merchant and ask for a price for delivery direct from their suppliers. I use my local Build Center and for 800 blocks they arranged direct delivery and saved just under 50% on price. Alternatively try Aggregate Industries and see if they will supply direct.

Blocks range in density from 450 to 1950 kg/m2. Would be helpful if you explained what blocks are to be used for?

Would suggest 7.3N Plasmor Aglite.
Density dry 1050kg/m2. Block lambda is 0.032W/mk.
Suitable for walls and block and beam. One handed lift. Open texture to accept render and lightweight plaster.
External walls to comply with BRs, need to achieve a U value of 0.28 Wm2/K.
External render, 100 Aglite block, 100 Dritherm 37, 100 Aglite block and either light weight plaster or dot and dab will giver you a U value of 0.27 Wm2.K.
You could get 0.25 with Dritherm 32, but 32 is lot more expensive than 37.
Prices vary across country. Phone around your local builders merchants for best price.
