Dewalt Mitre Saw - 708

Other half says "the brushes flew out and the motor is knacked". Does it need to be taken to pieces so we can identify the parts? I can't seem to find a complete motor for sale, all the internet sites show expoded diagrams and ask that each part is ordered individually.

Of course, it might be something else, any suggestions welcome.

Best bet would probably be to take it to a Dewalt repair center, check yellow pages or google, and let them examine it. You will have to pay for an inspection for example I took in a saw last year and my local shop charged me £34 to look at it although this cost was knocked off the price of the repair.
