diagram of vokera combi and names

Hi and help!

Is it possible for someone to give me an easy to follow diagram and names of parts please. My hot water went off gradually. The thermostat isn't moving. this morning I have no heating and the top of the case is red hot.
I have switched everything off, including the gas supply. Any ideas, had it serviced and a new valve fitted six months ago.

My first reaction is to suggest you call back the company which you used to ""had it serviced and a new valve fitted six months ago.""

There are lots of different valves in a boiler. I dont know what kind of "thermostat" you expect to see "moving". Do you mean a know on the front of the boiler is not turning?

The service was carried out by a local plumber. The cold water cut into the hot water shortly after the service and has continued to do this. I don't really want to have him back. I need to understand something about the system so hence why I have asked for a diagram and termonology.
The stats reading next to the pressure reading remained low when I turned the system on.

I think that its a little too difficult for us to give you a full course on combi boilers. There is a very good book on sale for about £35.

You can also look up "combi boiler" on the internet and read all that you can find on the subject which will take you several days.

I would suggest you call a boiler engineer instead of a "plumber". Ideally one who is familiar with your make. Or you could call the manufacturer as they offer a sevice solution.

I'm wondering why the manafacturers give instuctions on how to do a simple check before incurring the cost of calling someone out, without giving information about where to find the parts they refer to.

well it doesn't look like I am going to get the answers I need from here so thank you for your time. The letters have been enlightening to say the very least. luckilly or not Norfolk County Council have set up a rogue traders net line so hopefully the customer will feel a liitle more reassured.
Meanwhile I am off to look in the library for a diagram.

I dont know what you are referring to when you mention "manufacturers giving information on checks".

The only checks a user is expected to do are with the controls accessible on the outside of the boiler.

Manufacturers service manuals are intended for qualified service engineers only.

It would be highly irresponsible for anyone to encourage an unqualified person to open the case and could give rise to legal action in the case of any accident, gas explosion or electrocution.

Most boiler manufacturers have recommended or in house service engineers who should not be cowboys.

TV Rogue trader programs are carefully devised to be entertaining and are "setups" carefully designed to "trap" firms already known to be cowboys. They are not representative of the average service engineer who is honest and reasonable.

Service engineers usually charge from £30 to £110 per hour for time spent at YOUR home but not travelling time. If you want a real cowboy then call ANY solicitor and they will charge you £200-£300 per hour at their office when most of the work is done by their low paid minions!
