Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

My question is: ‘what is the difference between a self-drilling screw and a self-tapping screw?’

I have found a few articles online about this but they ALL contradict each other.

Cheers!

The self drillers have a little sort of drill bit on the front. Window fitters use them a lot.

Self tapper cuts a thread in an existing hole.
