Probably a really basic question for you here :)

Put the legs onto a bath, and it says after fixing the legs to the base of the bath, the tops of the legs should be secured into the plastic housings using the self tapping screws, (which will presumably screw through the plastic and into the metal.

So I need 4 self tapping screws, however the packet contains 8 screws, 4 of each type, which ones are the self tappers?

I think it's the silver ones, but I'm not sure...

Thanks :)

Out of interest, other than my gut feeling, how do you tell which ones are self tappers?

Well it's either " Phone a Friend or 50/50 left" ;) ;) ;)

Just hope your not on the £1 million question. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Nah seriously, it is the silver ones with the round head.
Self tappers are made of a harder metal than other screws. They never have countersunk heads too. ;) ;) ;)

Those self countersunk ones look like R2 cutters or turbo golds, you cant be using those as self tappers!

The CSK wood screws are pointy so that they can cut their own starting hole...the self tappers are harder and need a pilot hole - unless they have the self cutting drill end on, of course.
John :)

You don't cut into the metal with them, they tap into the plastic and hold onto the metal by pressure.

the other four will be for where the legs fix to the barge board, critical length and only use a hand screwdriver. you only get one go at it don't over tighten.
